When The Time Comes ---The past few years have certainly been a difficult to navigate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of today, the United States has seen 1,011,665 deaths related to COVID-19. Worldwide the total is an unbelievable 6,200,266 deaths. How many of these deaths were expected? You would anticipate some of these folks would have died due to other illnesses or advanced age. The staggering reality though is that many people, who were otherwise healthy and often young, also succumbed to COVID-19.
If we only had a crystal ball and could predict when tragedy would strike. When serious illnesses would come upon us or a loved one. When accidents would occur. Unfortunately, we rarely know.
Recently someone shared a story about a young mother in her thirties who suddenly, and without warning, suffered a devastating medical crisis. This situation was not COVID related. This young mother no longer has the ability to care for her children. She no longer has the ability to care for herself. The family functions in a daze most of the time.
During the pandemic, I lost a friend to COVID-19. A vivacious, energetic lady who had recently retired and had great plans for the future. Did she expect this to happen to her within a three-week span? Not at all.
Did you know that insurance statistics reveal there are approximately 40,000 fatal car accidents in the U.S. each year? Two million people experience a permanent injury resulting from car accidents each year.
On average, someone in the U.S. has a stroke every 40 seconds resulting in 400 deaths each day. One person dies every 36 seconds from cardiovascular disease in the U.S. It is estimated that someone experiences a heart attack every 40 seconds in the U.S.
This is precisely why I created the When The Time Comes organizer. To help families prepare for the unexpected. To help relieve the unbelievable burden of trying to figure out next steps when an accident, medical crisis or death occurs. It really doesn't matter if you are a young 30 year old or an octogenarian.
Think of those who could benefit from having this information. Siblings, parents, adult children, friends, and most importantly, yourself. When The Time Comes makes a very heartfelt gift. I have a friend who has given the organizer to each of her adult children, siblings and parents and in-laws.
You may pick up a copy of the organizer at several local shops in the Evansville area: It Can Be Arranged of the east side; Tracy's Accessories on the west side; Bluestocking Social on the southeast side; Your Brothers Bookstore downtown; or Brickhouse Boutique in Ft.
